World Pass
New players of Final Fantasy XI are placed on one of many servers at random and you have no choice which one you go too. However if you would like to play on the same server as a friend, they can obtain a world pass for you. A World pass is a special code that you input on the character creation screen and it will ensure you go onto the server that it was created on.
World passes can be purchased in one of the starting cities for a small fee. Each world pass will allow a couple of your friends to join the same server as you but it will expire eventually so you must use it quickly after creation.
