Mine is Kain. I'm going to have some SPOILERS below, so don't look if you haven't finished the game ^_^
Kain was a great character. Here we have a great, powerful Dragoon, orphaned at a young age, then raised by the king. He grows up with another orphan, Cecil, and they are best friends. They both fall in love with Rosa, but unfortunately for Kain, Rosa chooses Cecil.
Their friendship is tested as Kain's jealousy and resentment grow, making him an easy target for Golbez. He gives in, and betrays the team TWICE. Yet at the end he does come back, broken of his honor, trying to right the wrongs he helped cause.

That was the line that won Kain over for me. He was ready to die to restore his honor and his friendship. The ending shows that, with him trining on Mount Ordeals, waiting the day he will be ready to return to Baron.
