The same thing happened with the Dyer-Bowyer incident a few years back but nothing came of it in the end.
I've been watching replays of it on SkySports news and it does look very bad. Thatcher clearly went in to hurt the player... poor Mendes even had to stay in hospital overnight, lol. BTW, who was it that came out with that qoute about Pearce accepting it was a foul?
Squire, this following question is aimed solely at you:
What did it feel like when Manchester United beat Forest 8-1 at the City Ground, in the season you got relegated? I ask this question in complete seriousness, so please don't feel like I'm trying to ridicule you. It's something that has always interested me, an exploration into the mood and psyche of a football fan, so to speak. I've never had the experience myself (Newcastle have had some batterings over the years but nothing that bad).
