The Apostles Of Jesus

Ok, so it's a fact that the 4 gospels were written by apostles. This brings up a question though: is what they wrote true? If it is true, then the miracles actually happened, which would defy science and would prove Jesus was Divine. It is also a fact that apostles were persecuted by several different factions, including the religious leaders of that time, and in some cases, were even killed for their belief that Jesus was the Son of God. This leads us to the question: why would they lie if they knew they were going to persecuted so harshly? I mean, I can understand dieing for something you believe in, but dieing for something you don't believe in...

Ok. I don't bother to think wether it is true or not , since it happened so long ago, but I'll tell u this. Those were times when people weren't so smart as today, so a smarter man/woman could be able to trick those people easy. Now I'm not saying that Jesus was a fraud, I am only saying that there is always the posibility.

Why not? Maybe they thought that it was a good thing , a positive thing, in those times when their people were tortured and killed. If they didn't believe, as u say, maybe other people did and that was important to them.

Hmm, just for the record, scientific evidence is not out to contradict religious beliefs. They just state stuff the way it is with factual evidence. Like it is with evolution, which is no longer a theory. It has more or less become accepted by religious society as God's Will.

But no matter how much scientific evidence there is people will still belive in a God, whoever he may be. Why? Fear, culture, and ofcourse cause they do believe :)

No one said people would stop believing in God, like I said, scientists are not out to prove anyone wrong. Everyone just modifies their beliefs to fit them up to what scientific fact says.

Like when they said the Earth was not the center of the universe, everyone formed controversy at first because they thought the Earth was the source of God's power, and now it's a known fact that the Earth isn't the center of the universe. What do religions do? They now believe God is everywhere.

Of course, science has many flaws and that's where faith comes in. All the theories about God being a lie and being nothing more than superstition ARE theories because no one has proof that miracles don't exist.

People believe what gives them hope. Life after death is an uncertain thing, so people look to a religion to try and make sense of it. Having a life after death, especially an immortal one with all the benefits they say you'll get, sounds good to people and it gives 'em hope.
