Who does eveyone reckon will get the golden boot at the World Cup. My money would be on Tevez, but if England do really well maybe Lamps is worth an outside punt?

I have a strange feeling Rooney might get quite a few, but I think Ronaldo will pull it off again.
I'd probably go for Crespo ahead of Tevez though in the Argentinian camp.

So, Peter Crouch finally got a goal. It should have probably been 2, but one was creditted as an own goal.
I'm slightly happy, but slightly annoyed. It means now that they'll continue to play him.

You mean England?
I was quite disappointed to see him score. The whole 'will he, won't he score' saga was becoming very funny.
The FA Cup draw was made on Sunday. Newcastle got Mansfield which is a virtual bye into the fourth round.(The mighty Forest got tonked by Chester).
Another shambolic display by Newcastle, lucky to have got a point in the end. I don't know about Neon but I spent most of my weekend waiting for the announcement that Souness had been sacked. Unfortunately, it never came

Mansfield a bye!? was Wigan reserves not an winning match as well!
I never put anything past newcaslte, this includes loosing to mansfeild or beating Chelasea.
I've lernt something over my years as a newcaslte fan, listeing to my dad telling stories of when he went when he was boy and i know that newcaslt are completly unpredicatable.
Well after the match we all kind of thought Souness is surely gone now.....however it seems we will be hangin on to him for a lil while. I dont think he is expected to beat arsenal next game but the one after will be his VERY FINAL chance. He is certainly on borrwed time as it is.
Also is it ironic that our two best defenders cost us £0 (Ramage and Taylor) when we pay over £12 million for crap. Also Luque seems like another Marcellino type buy.

It should be another early third round exit a la Wrexham for us cos the Arsenal have got Cardiff.
Just to clear up the WC seedings debate from earlier, Eriksson said on Sky Sports News that the seeded teams will not be decided until three days before the draw in Leipzig and that they have asked FIFA what the criteria are but they wont tell them! So presumably t is going to be more than just the official rankings.
Also what the hell is going on with Gazza at Kettering, if what the chairman has been saying is true that is just embarrassing.

Come on, if you're playing Elliot, Bramble and Rampage at the back, coupled with Chopra and Ameobi....you just know that Newcastle are trying to let the opposition win.

That's cos Souness is losing it. I love his 'I'll never quit' rant a few days ago. Is it me or do managers always say such things just before they are going to get sacked. I hear there's a vacancy at Real Madrid though.

It's to avoid having three European teams in one group.

Ah, I understand now. Looking on Sky Sports News, it would appear from the points taly, we are the second seeds (not that that counts for much in the actual competition).
Has anyone seen the Gazza interview on SSN? Is it just me or does he seem really rather drunk?

Isn't it so that each pot has 8 teams in?
If Serbia were in the European Pot, it would have had 9 teams, Pot Four would have had 7.
I think the opposite of what you said can now happen. A group can now have 3 European Teams. One from the Top Seeds, one from the European Group and Serbia.

I think it got complicated once FIFA decided to seed Mexico in pot 1. What I assume they are going to do is see which group Brazil, Argentina or Mexico come out in and then put the Serbians in one those groups.
Whatever happens there CANNOT be three European teams in the same group.

He always seems drunk, there's no change in that.
I'm surprised anybody gave him a job - eventhough, it was only Kettering - after the China fiasco.
