Re: Final Fantasy 6 movie?
They wouldn't be able to cover enough of the story to make it worthwhile in a two-hour movie. Maybe a miniseries.
Also, take off capslock imho

Re: Final Fantasy 6 movie?
I think that you should stop typing in all caps, and stop making your thread titles all caps, too (I edited them). This is your warning from me.
I never played Final Fantasy VI, but I would probably watch a movie of it should one be made.

Re: Final Fantasy 6 movie?
although i dont know why CAPS LOCK is a punishable offense, i will ignore that and say that the movie would be really awesome, as long as they captured the misanthropic nature and nihilistic tendancy (plus the crazy laugh) of kefka and they have to make setzer as cool as he is. that would truly be the best game in my opinion to turn into a movie. maybe a bit long, since thats how the story is, but movies are moving to be longer on average anyways.

FF6 was in my opinion right up there with FF7, so I think I'd be the coolest. movie. evah! Kefka's gotta kick ass and they gotta get Gau in there too.

Agreed. I mean, they might be able to do a short 25 minute OVA like they did for Last Order, that's as far as they'd be able to go. Even then, I doubt it'd be interesting.

If they make it anything like Advent Children, then I say no. It's eye candy, sure. But that's all it really has going for it.

Re: Final Fantasy 6 movie?
RPGs just don't translate well to movies. They're too long, too involved, and there's too much going on. Now if, on the other hand, you were able to make a 50 to 100 episode series, you might have a shot... but even then, you'd HAVE to get it right, or all you'd do is piss a lot of people off.

Re: Final Fantasy 6 movie?
Only if they did an animation. Everybody knows the chances of a live-action movie being any good is extremely remote.

God help us if they ever do a live-action FF6 movie. I can't even imagine who they'd cast as Kefka.

Re: Final Fantasy 6 movie?
The characters or story in FFVI weren't good enough to ever warrant a movie.

Re: Final Fantasy 6 movie?
Live action would definately blow. CGI is risky, but if FF7 deserved Advent Children then FF6 deserves stuff too. They were definately good enough. It is harder to think of continuations due the the destruction of... in the conclusion, unlike in F7 where it continues to exist.

FFVI is nowhere near as popular as FFVII. It doesn't deserve a movie.

First thing is first you are an absolute tard if you think that this game does not deserve a movie. This game was a revolutionary step in video games just as final fantasy 7. There is no reason why this game could not become a movie, it would be hard with the story line unless they threw in a lot of extra footage. Overall it would be a great success

Re: Final Fantasy 6 movie?
An FF6 movie would be wicked, but I think it would just get all cheesed up like all the recent FF games. Personally I love the game but would rather see it left where it is as a classic moment in old skool gaming rather than have someone try and bring it up to date in terms of style.

Re: Final Fantasy 6 movie?
I believe that FF-6 would be a great concept for a movie... but the chances of it being GOOD and made PROPERLY are slim to none. I mean, for the most part... SquareEnix hasn't really produced great movies... [sorry to say]... I mean, sure it'd be nice as CG but alot of the story would be cut out. Maybe a mini series is a good idea... but if they do that... they can't really cut out anything from the video game or people would get upset... So personally, I hope they leave it be... so it won't be ruined....

Re: Final Fantasy 6 movie?
A movie is hard to be created...when we have to do with videogames. They are quite long to very long and there are many things the have to take into consideration. An example of a transfer of a story to a movie can easily be found in the realm of books. One one hand we have Lord of the Rings, a great movie but still criticized by many fans for its story flaws and alterations and on the other hand we have let's say... Eragon that it was not only according to the book but it was a crappy movie too. It just seemed too... cheap you know. Of course this is just a personal opinion.
Anyway a movie has to exclude a ton of things that the videogame had. So a good case would be an anime. But this one too has to include good art and stuff. I still have nightmares from Xenosaga the Anime. OK, it was the story of the first episode of Xenosaga bu the looks of the characters was just... awful.
And to those who are against Final Fantasy 6, ok, it's your opinion guys but please justify it. Why don't ypu like it? What exactly didn't you like? I can't just accept an opinion without explanation.

Re: Final Fantasy 6 movie?
I would Love a Final Fantasy 6 movie, if they managed to actually make it good, get the characters right and stuff. (I kind of like the Final Fantasy Spirits Within, slightly boring as it was, so I have faith in them. Maybe that's because I haven't seen Advent Children.) I wonder how they'd 'change' the characters looks so to say. With better graphics and the likes they would look rather different. Now I'm not sure. -.- I loved the game - It's my alltime favourite Final Fantasy so there! All the games after FF8/9 are Holliwodized and somehow at the same time grey, if you ask me. But if you like that, then... - But seeing as it has a rather intricate storyline and doesn't just follow one person I guess a movie could be hard to make. Maybe a series as suggested. *mumbles* Maybe one with the characters having speech-bubbles instead of actual voices... x_x I'd just hate it if they messed up Kefkas laughter or Celes voice, or, or...
Okay, for my final stance, after having gone over it in boththis post and in my head: I think I would very much like a movie. If they got it right. Which I doubt. So... I'd have to say maybe.
