I'm sure that all of you guys have already noticed that all the playable characters from the game have a red ribbon on there left arm in the Advent children movie.

I would really appreciate if someone could tell me if there was a reason behind that?

As I posted in another thread I think it is a symbol of the fight against geostigma (kinda like the red ribbions for the cancer walk). Another good theory I heard was that it is in remembrance of Aerith. It chould even be both. The only think I don't get (if it is to remember Aerith) is why Cloud would be hiding it under his shirt in the begining then (other then it would look dumb tied on the outside).

As Bluefire and Evinex said, it is to remember Aerith (that's her real name, as said in KH, if its been changed not my fault). Cloud didn't hide his as such, its just because he wanted to hide his geostigma and also he might have wanted to forget her, he was trying to start a relationship with Tifa but its taking a long time and he can't do it if he dwells on Aeirth. Hope this clears stuff up.

Ah yes, but then again, Kingdom Hearts was made when it was Square Enix, severak yars later. FF7 was made during the old days of Squaresoft, far before Kingdom Hearts. If it says in AC that its Aerith then it must be, I assume it was just a translation error or something. You never know but the more recent one is Aerith, also I usually call her Aeris as well, its just ingrained in my memory from FF7, probably the best Final Fantasy game that I have played (and I have played a lot of FF games, not to brag).
Plus we're going slightly off topic here, we're talknig about ribbons, not Aerith/Aeris's name.

Also I would like to say once again that we are going completely off topic, its meant to be about the red ribbons, not about Aeris/Aerith's proper name. I think its Aerith in KH2, not sure about KHCoM because I can't remeber since I've played a few games since I last played it. Let's get back to the original topic, okay? If you notcied underneath his sleeve was Geostigma, It's where he's pain was, Aerith's rememberance ribbon went here, to be honest I would say that either A he would pay attention to it more because that's where the diesease is. or B he remembers it less as it is a pain to him, and he has it hidden with the pain of Geostigma, Genova, Sephiroth, his past.

I do know it was hidden though to show people he is kind of emotionless, and that the past is behind him. which we know it isn't
