In wake of the recent surge of topics in this forum requesting help in the game perhaps it's a good idea to follow the lead of the FFX forum and have a set topic for people to come in, rather than have them make a new topic each time.

So post in here if you need help with something to do with Final Fantasy VIII and we'll try and get you an answer (provided you're nice and suck up to me)

A cermony should happen, you should talk to the Chicobo and receive the card.

This happens in the Chocobo Sanctuary.

These are the 7 forests. Just check to see you have done them all.

Beginner's Forest - Next To Shumi Village
Basics Forest - South Of Beginners Forest
Roaming Forest - North OF Trabia Garden.
Forest Of Solitude - North-east of the Centra Ruins.
Forest Of Fun - South-west Centra, near the lighthouse.
Enclosed Forest - South-east Centra, beach leading to a mountain path; follow it andhead west to the forest.
Chocobo Sanctuary - Ride a Chocobo south from Roaming Forest into shallow water and head onto a beach near a heavily forested area. Follow the path round to find the Sanctuary. Hope it helps.

Thanks To Spatvark For This Guide.

Question - In the card games, I aciddently spreaded the "same/plus/samewall" rule, and its hard for me to master it so I was wondering how to un-do the rule? Or if we can even undo the rule?

To abolish rules:

Area A: Has unwanted rule.
Area B: Has at least 1 rule, preferably exactly 1 rule, Area A doesn't
have, and doesn't have the unwanted rule.

Play a game in Area B. Proceed to Area A and save somewhere near any card
player. Challenge any person to a game of cards, when asked if you want to play
with a combination of both area's rules accept. When given the option to play
or quit a second time, quit. If the rule you want to abolish doesn't get
abolished reset and start over, if another rule spreads reset and start over, if
nothing happens challenge again.
Note: It's best to abolish rules before spreading rules.[/b]
thanks to Oswauld. for this help.

I have a request for Game Help! For some stupid reason (I was still a newbie in the game at the time and didn't know what I was doing), I used one of the newly acquired items to give a GF a new ability and it accidently replaced the valuable Card Mod ability. I'm in Disc 4 saved at Ultemecia's castle, and it seems virtually impossible to beat all four stages of the final boss battle. I got up to the third stage, only after the Phoenix GF revived my party in the second stage.

I'll recommend the same strategy for defeating Ultimecia as I do for just about every difficult boss around. Have one character summoun Doomtrain (if you have time, have another summoun Cerberus as well). Doomtrain will cast Meltdown on Ultimecia allowing your hits to do max damage. Have one character cast Aura on Squall (or everyone if you've also summouned Cerberus) and then use a Holy War. Keep hitting her with physical attacks, recasting Aura when Holy War runs out and then using another Holy War.

Don't have Cerberus and don't have Holy War. I guess I could draw Cerberus from one of the bosses in her castle (I have a game save before entering the castle), but it took forever just to get through all those bosses anyway. I did happen to draw Eden from that last boss, though I'm not sure how much good that would be. The real problem is that two of my characters aren't developed at all (Zell and Irvine) and I don't even have them junctioned to any GFs (Squall has about 7 GFs junctioned). I'm thinking of just leaving the castle and building up those other characters, while maxing out all of my acquired GF abilities.

Well you don't really need Cerberus and you can refine some Holy Wars from the Gilgamesh card. If you don't have that and you haven't junctioned your characters properly than you're screwed. You need to at least take some GFs from Squall and give them and some powerful magic to Zell and Irvine to boost their stats. Proper junctioning is the key to beating this game.

I'd agree with Whiplash, there's not much you can do except proper Junctioning. FYI, you can Draw Cerberus from Gargantua(The Lefty, Righty, Vysage thingy.) in the Armoury, you'll need the Armoury Key though.

I already beat that boss but forgot to draw anything from it. Again, though, I can just use my other save slot from before entering the castle. You can also draw Leviathan from one of the bosses too, right? I don't have that either.

Oh one note... you cant leave ultimecia's castle... once you enter the flying thing (cant remember name) were Adel is at you cant go back to the world... and if you screwed up then you have to restart your game from scratch or a save before you enter... oh well... good luck with ultimecia she is a hassle...

^Yes, you can leave Ultimecia's castle. There are doors on that chain pathway. But you can't enter any towns.

I'd spread your GFs out a little more evenly, and get some strong magic like Ultima to junction to the characters' stats.

I pretty much have every GF except Cerberus and Leviathan. I'm still debating about whether or not just to build up all the GFs I have and level up the characters and try my shot at Ultemecia, or just go back to the other save slot. It's frustrating because if I had more Mega-elixers, it wouldn't be an issue.

Basically, your goal is to get to/find the Ragnarok which is somewhere in the Kashkabald Desert(Next to Cactuar Island). Face the second portal at Ultimecia's Castle, and press 'X' to jump to it, then enter it. You'll appear at Cetra's Serengetti Plains, which is a little north of where you find Odin. Head northwest and get to the Chocobo Forest there, it's pretty easy to figure out what you do there. Once you have a Chocobo, head down to the southern border until you reach a beach. Run on the ocean, yes, the ocean(There's a path where you can run.) and head to Edea's House. From there, head east to the montain range, look out for a very narrow mountain pass(It's kinda tight, so you wouldn't really think you could run through it.). And after all that hard work, you've finally reached the Kashkabald Desert where the Ragnarok is waiting patiently for you. Oh and one more thing, there's a portal near the Ragnarok, if you enter it, a new portal will appear at Ultimecia's Castle, the new portal will lead you to the Kashkabald Desert. Everything looks pretty normal, except that the towns have force fields which prevent you from entering them.

It's not really neccessary to get all the GFs, though it wouldn't hurt. You can Refine 100 Megalixirs from Bahamut's Card using the Card-Mod ability.

^He accidentally got rid of the Card-Mod ability, according to his first post. So I think he's screwed as far as that's concerned, because I can't find an item that will teach it to a GF again. There should be a way to refine megalixers using Siren or Alexander's abilities, though.

EDIT:
If you have a Doc's Code item, you can refine 1 into 1 Megalixer using Forbid Med-RF.
You can refine 10 elixirs into 1 megalixer using Alexander's Med Level Up.
You can refine 1 Med Kit into 2 megalixers using Forbid Med-RF.

There are a lot of ways to get elixirs, but I don't feel like typing them all out. Just check out the refining guide posted at gamefaqs.com.

Everything is exactly the same as in the present time, except there's a force field around the towns so you can't get into them, and Balamb Garden isn't there anymore. It's the same old monsters, so yeah, pretty much all there is to do is level up on the islands closest to heaven and hell, and draw magic and things like that. I usually don't even bother going back onto the world map on disc 4.
