Square Enix Hates "the Little Mermaid"

Why is The Little Mermaid world is so God awful while the rest of the game is so freaking sweet? The new songs for the level are terrible! That first song about fishy fun or whatever hurts my ears. Also while all of the other worlds seem to have been effect by Sora and the gang from the first game but everything that happened in The Little Mermaid world in the first game happens again in this one. Ariel meets Eric for the first time, AGAIN. She signs a contract with Ursula (spelling?) AGAIN. Yet everyone obviously remembers Sora, Goofy, and Donald so the world kind of contradicts itself. The only thing that changed is now you get to fight Ursula while singing a song. I admit that the whole button timing thing is fun but the lame songs (minus the ones from the actual movie) make me want to cry. If I didn't have the compulsion to do everything I'd skip that entire world. Does anyone else feel my pain, am I just being dumb, or both?

I haven't gotten here yet, but Ariel never met Eric in KH1. Just wanted to point that out. ^_^

yea it was messed up i got to say. Same with hundred acher woods (spelling). those extras were terrible. but atlantica wasnt that bad but it was not that great either. The only song i liked was under the sea id like playing to that 1

Well it was a long time ago that i played through KH1 so I just assumed that she meet Eric in it. Well you know what they say about assuming things. As far as 100 acre woods goes I thought some were fun (jumping game and the wind one where you rescue piglet) and other were dumb (the pooh in jar one and the cave). Whatever I got to say my peace. Now if you'll excuse me I need to beat the game (I'm getting really close, I think).

I think I'm the only one that actually didn't mind doing those songs(when I'm away from the rest of the family, anyway). When you first enter the world and Ariel starts singing "Part of Your World," my Mom was in the vicinity and started singing along. :lol: I started bobbing my head when they did Under The Sea. I'll bet Haley Joe Osment was groaning as he found out he had to sing some of these lyrics.

the little mermaid wasn't that bad though but i didnt like it. I liked playing the songs and pressing the X square or circle that was a challenge :P . But the world was terrible

^what he said just louder. yah the game mechanics were fun but i turned the DVD player (which i have my PS2 go through so I have surround sound) on mute every time I went here. I acually started laughing in the battle/song with ursula it was so bad!

I liked the old Little Mermaid World better. Where you could ACTUALLY fight. Not sing and dance and.... sing... =/

stop bit*hin about this world yes it was terrible but the only thing good about it was trying to get all excellents thats the challenge. The singing was garbage but the 1 song i liked was "under the sea" because it was in the little mermaid movie from when i was young. :dry: Give the world a break it sucked but deal with it

I didn't like it. It was quit annoying. At first I thought I had to get all good and none wrong. I didn't know there was excellent. So uhh. Then I figured it out and it was easy.
I didn't like the first world. I hated swimming around. I couldn't jump.

Well, now that I've been to this level, I can officially say that it sucks. I was embarassed for Sora having to do all those dorky moves. The poor kid. I think the real reason Ariel didn't want to practice is because she knew how stupid she looked. :P

Or that the fact she was in love. Ok it sucks but give this game to a 8 year old and let him or her play the level they wont mind. It sucks jeeze stop dragging it along

And even though there are Disney characters, I think the average player is quite a few years older than 8. I don't know what Square was thinking when they put this level in.

I was playing that level last night to finish the mini games and i was playing it yea it was annoying but she joined in thats what was more annoying. Its ment for young kids and they say 10+ but i think kids that are at lease 7-10 play it. Everyone has there own opinion its just everyone keeps saying it sucks and we know this dont drag it along. They should close this topic!

I thought it was humerous and stayed true to the Little Mermaid Movie as there was a lot of singing in the film.

My only problem with it is the fact you had to keep going back and forth and gain certain moves before finishin the world.

@mikey: First of all, who died and made you mod? There's nothing wrong with stating our opinions on one of the worlds. Not everyone has posted saying that they hated it, either. Look at Guan Yuber's post on page 1. And out of those who have, you've posted more than anyone. So who's the one dragging it out?

For the record, I like that you don't have random encounters in KH2, because I absolutely hated fighting underwater in KH1. And the timed button-pressing is cool, but the songs themselves (the ones I've heard anyway) have lame lyrics, and the dancing is cheesy. The level could have been better.

Mikey...shut up...ur spamming by saying the same thing over and over and ur also looking for trouble. People have their opnions and they don't wanna hear u say that they're wrong. As for Uber Yuber, he's also the one who has Alladin songs on his iPod :rolleyes:

Anyways, Atlantica sucked in KH1 and now it sucks in KH2. I hate singng, so why should I have to sing while playing a video game. The whole drive gauge is ok if it was just one mini game in Twilight Town or 100 acre wood, but an entire world centered around it? Also, u only sanf along to 2 songs from the movie while the rest were horrible original songs for the game. Although some people may see this as a grood thing and like a little change of pace, they could have at least used GOOD music. So, all in all, Atlantica sucked. Anything that was grood about it shouldn't have been dragged into an entire world while everything bad about it actually forced gamers to mute their TV while playing. I don't think anyone did that for any of the other worlds, did they? (except maybe for when Cid talked >_<)
