Cursing at herself, Deadra stood up as quietly as she possibly could and started running, using her wings as a speed booster.
Obviously she wasn't being careful enough...
A quick look made the fire go out, this would distract them long enough for her to get away... hopefully.
She could hear the girl over the distance.

"Huh? What happened?"

"You see that?" Vade asked, looking at his brother.

"Yeah... what do you think it was?" Said Ved while putting his arms down, bow still in hand and sight set towards the woods.

"Don't know, think we should hunt it down?" He asked, turning his head back to the scene.

"By all means." Hazard replied, smirk on his face.

"It would make more sense if we did that during the morning... It's dark, in case you didn't notice, and now it's getting cold! Why'd the fire go out!?" Eve's voice rang up from the background.

"She's right." Ved withdrew his bow. "We can't do anything about it right now."

"And I was looking forward to something to kill..." Hazard withdrew and walked away while Ved followed closely behind.

Vade on the other hand, stood there staring at the woods for a few more seconds before finally joining the others.

"Boss, you're back!" A middle-aged man shouted out as soon as he saw Deadra coming out of the bushes.

"Shh! Pack up our stuff, we're leaving tonight. There's people headed toward the village."

"Gotcha!" He winked then turned around to the camp they had set up and started shouting orders out to the rest of the men.

"Do it quietly..." She said, wincing. "They're not too far away from here. I'll go on ahead and guard the village, you guys get moving and get the supplies there as fast as you can, but more importantly... stay alive."

"Will do." The man smiled and walked away.

Stretching her wings, she lifted herself in the air then made her way south.

OOC: I hope I got everyone's character right. x.x Anyway, sorry for short post.

Xenek held his arm out, two fingers pointed at the outened fire, a small fire ball flew into the fireplace and started it up again. I took off my trenchcoat and it disapearred into the darkness, leaning up against a tree in the darkness I watched the others from afar until Ved joined me in the dark.

"Still wandering what was watching us?" Ved asked me.
"Not really. You forget? We were surrounded by shadows."
"Nah, I didnt forget. And the trees gave me an answer as well. Seems it was a girl." Ved said turning his attention to Vade as he walked up to us.
"What'cha guys talking about?" Vade asked.
"Just discussing what that thing was back there." Ved said, I listened. "Seems it was a girl, Hazard seen her, and I had the trees to assist me."
"Seems like yous got stronger while yous were traveling." Vade replied.
"Well, we did run into a bunch of snags along the way of returning here..."

It was silent for a few seconds, until Eve's voice broke the silence.

"Hey! Don't yous think we should get some shut eye? I mean, we got alot of traveling to do in the morning."
"Shes right." Ved replied. "Lets all try to get some shut eye."

Ved and Vade walked over to the fire where the others were, I slid into a sitting postition against the tree. Closing my eyes, and letting the shadows envelop me. I fell into a light sleep, still able to hear the others. Then my mind started to drift and I fell into a heavy sleep.

Moments later I felt someone pushing me. I squinted my eyes open to see it was Eve.
"What? The others too afraid to wake me so they made you?" I asked her.
"No. But Ved said something about you hitting someone who wakes you up, but I know im too adorable for you to hit." She gave a light smile and held out her hand to help me up.
I grabbed her hand but pulled myself up, knowing she wouldnt be able to. "Such a helpful gesture, almost lady-like." I said to her.
"Well, you know me." Eve said as she walked away to her brother.

I held my arm out to my side and my trenchcoat unravelled from out of no where, the colar was in my hand. Fitting ymself properly and readjusting my scimitar. I stated walking over to the others, Vade was flying down from the sky. As I got next to Ved he landed.

"Theres a small village north, we might be able to get something to eat there. And some supplies for out travel." Vade said stretching his wings.
"Alright everyone ready?" Ved asked before we continued our journey.

"Ofcourse I am, I'm almost starving to death" Stuzzie answered. Vade grinned.
"Lets go then, shall we?" Eve said and she started walking without waiting for an answer.

"How far was the village?" Hazard asked Vade.
Vade closed his eyes and opened them again, as if he was thinking.
"Hmm, I think it will take less than an hour to get there" he answered while he walked to Ved.
Xenek and Eve were walking next to each other and Stuzzie was just viewing the sights in front of them.

"Perhaps they have pie or cake, I'd love some chocolate cake right now.." He felt Hazard was watching him and he stopped muttering to himself and sneezed.
"I think I'm getting a cold, chicken soup..." he went on and put his right arm in front of him. A small bright flash appeared and transformed into a ball of fire.
Eve made a faint smile and started walking next to Stuzzie who still had the ball by his hand.
"Ofcourse you know I'm only walking here because of the fire."
Stuzzie nodded and continued his travels.

Staying behind the others, I had a feeling of being watched. I closed my eyes and sensed the surrounding area. I could see the energy of the people I travelled with, I sensed farther, up in the skys and down in the earth. I couldnt sense anything, 'Just my imagination.' I thought. I heard Ved shout to us, breaking my concentration. I opened my eyes and seen him waving at Awol, Stuzzie, Eve, and myself.

I ran past the others to see what the problem was. In our way, was a cliff, farther then what I could jump. This was something I wasnt planning on.

"Now what?" Xenek asked. "The trees are blocking any of us form jumping down, their also blocking us form seeing nay potential threats down there."
"Good point." Ved said.
"What if I fly down and check it out?" Vade asked.
"And how do you plan on getting the rest of us down?" I asked him.
"Note taken." he replied scratching the back of his head. Stuzzie, Eve and Awol were walking up behind us.

"Thats a long fall." Stuzzie said out of no where. I gave him an eery look. "Heh... So uhm... Any ideas?"

OOC:Short post, so what. I'm tired. Plus, just a little knot every journey needs after a little while. ^_^

"Well, I guess I could go ahead and take a look." I suggested.

"Sounds good to me, I guess." Ved said looked at Hazard.

"Well, hurry the hell up already." Hazard said as he shoved me over the edge.

I quick twisted around and spread my wings to catch the air and started hovering down. The cliff was really, really deap. Must have been at least a half a mile. There were a lot of big ledges that would work for good resting areas so it wouldn't be too hard. I pumped my wings harder and started to go back up. I heard what sounded like metal against metal. I pumped my wings harder and got to the top and saw that my part had been ambushed by a pack of orcs. I quickly summoned my tonfas and impaled the nearest ork through the skull and spinning around my right tonfa, aiming for the neck, I decapitated another one. I looked over and Ved had frozen two orcs and then whipped out his staff and struck them and they shattered. Xenek started chanting and placed his hands about a foot apart from eachother and a ball of fire grew and grew. One of the orcs saw what he was trying to do and charged him..

"Xenek look out!" I heard Eve screamed and placed her hands out in front of her and cast a sheild around him. The orc started bashing at it with all his might and I could see Eve becoming visably weaker. I gathered a giant lightning bolt in my right hand and hurled it through the orc in front of me. I spun my hand around and slammed my fist into the ground, summoning a lightning bolt from the sky, it hit right on target, frying the orc near Xenek immediatly.

"Haha! Good one Vade! Thanks!" Xenek yelled as he released his fireball into a pack of orcs going near Eve, completely insinerating them. I turned around just in time to parry and over-head attack from an orc and slash him downward with both tonfas, making an X of blood stream out as he collapsed.

"This," Hazard started as he swong his Deathbringer at another orc, smashing him away,"is waaaay too easy." He gripped another one by the throat and and ripped it out.

"You're enjoying this, arn't you?" Awol said, with a sly smile on his face as he parried a blow from an orc and thrust his blade through his chest.

There must have been twenty or so orcs slaughtered by our party and when Ved shot the last one down with an ice arrow I laughed and wipped my face with the back of my sleeve.

"Still got it," I said laughing, glad I hadn't gotten rusty.

"Not bad, not bad." Ved said patting me on the back.

Well, you know..."I stopped short, something was wrong, I could feel it. I looked at Hazard and I could tell he was trying to figure it out too.

"Ved, talk to the trees, ask them what is coming, it's something big, quick!" I yelled, summoning my tonfas again.

Ved ran into the trees hissing to them frantically and then came running back-
"The protector of the forest is coming, and she's pissed!" Ved yelled.

"What the hell is that?" Hazard asked.

"I don't know, some kind of phoenix, that's all the trees would tell me."

I took off into the air and looked out into the fog, my elven blood helping me pierce it. I saw an enormous bird coming, the wings looked to be made of fire and the eyes glowed with anger.

"It's coming!" I warned as I looped around, just above the party.

"Come get some!" Hazard growled as he summoned his Deathbringer.

Vade was still hovering in the wind, my focus was on the energy I felt through the fog. It was powerful, it was weaker then Choronzon, but ranked up somewhere near it. I turned my focus to the others, Ved had his bow summoned, cocked with an arrow. Awol had his blade drawn, Xenek was blocking his sister making sure she would be alright. Stuzzie had his sword in his right hand and was conjuring up a white energy ball in his hand. I seen a flash in the sky and immediately looked up.

Vade used a lightning shield to block a giant ball of fire that broke apart and was flying down towards us. Gathering dark energy in my blade and i cut towards the sky, the black energy sped towards the falling debris and covered it in shadows then disappeared into an alternate realm. The ones that I missed, Ved froze, Stuzzie and Awol knocked them away as they fell closer.

In an instant, Vade was knocked down towards us, but he used his wings to regain his balance. He hovered down so his feet would touch the ground. "This things a lot tougher then what it looks." he said as he shook off the blast that knocked him down.

"Any ideas of how we should go about this?" Stuzzie asked.
Ved shook his head, "If we fight... It's the protector of the forest, we shouldn't hurt it."
"Your a dumb ass, this thing attacked us first. And I'll be damned if I'm going to walk away from something that attacked me!" I said looking at the phoenix that was looking directly down at us.
"I think we should go with Ved's plan. If it attacks us, we should somehow stun it and climb down as quickly as possible." I heard Vade say.
"Doesn't look like the phoenix wants to wait." I said watching the phoenix charge a giant fireball in its mouth. "Someone piss me off, I need to go Ascended to fly up there." I said looking at the others.
"Don't you usually kill the thing that made you go Ascended first?" Eve asked.
I stayed quiet for a little bit, "Fine. But if this thing gets in my range I'm taking it out."
"Uh-oh, its attacking." Stuzzie said, I looked back up and seen it unleash a giant fireball towards us.

"Xenek, Stuzzie, lets team up and freeze this thing." Ved said steeping forward. Xenek and Stuzzie stepped next to him and they all gathered ice energy, releasing it at once, they started to freeze the giant fireball, but it was still getting closer. I tapped Vades shoulder and stepped forward. I put both my arms out like a cross. I started to conjure up pure black energy, I pulled my arms out in front of me and released my attack. As my attack flew towards the half-frozen fireball, I seen Vades lightning bolt travel next to it. Instead of destroying the phoenix's attack, we pushed it back. Forcing the attack right back into the phoenix.

There was a light explosion that created a small glare. I held up my left arm and blacked it with my forearm. I heard a light thud and felt the vibration through the ground. As the light dimmed down, I seen the phoenix on the ground starting to get back up. I drew my blade and rushed at it, using one wing it pushed me back with the wind. When it was fully standing it pumped both its wings and sent me flying back. I flew back, I stabbed my scimitar into the ground so I would be pulled to the ground. The others were looking back at me, but when I seen the phoenix get ready to pump its wings harder, I withdrew my blade and quickly ran past them.

"Hazard, No!" I heard Ved shout. I didn't pay any attention. When I was only a couple feet away, it pumped its wing and sent me flying back, this time I seen the others follow. I pumped so hard that I and my party fell off the cliff side. I forced myself to turn and seen Vade trying to fly, but the wind was keeping him from doing so. I looked around for the others, I could see Ved and Awol were in front of me, they got their balance and was bracing themselves for the fall. I held my arms out and spread my legs to slow down, it didn't do much, but it helped. As I was near impact I braced myself and smashed through the trees. When I finally hit the ground, pain was coursing through my body, but it quickly disappeared due to my healing ability and I stood up. I looked around and was surrounded by nothing but darkness. I closed my eyes and opened them again, the darkness was gone, but all I seen now was forest. And I was still a little shaken from the fall, so I couldn't sense anyone. The only thing I could do was start searching.

OOC> I'm gonna try first person for once... let's see how it works. =P

I awoke to the sound of commotion on the outside my house then a knock on the door confirmed it, something was going on. I jumped up from my bed almost instantly and walked toward the door.
When I opened, it was one of the village's lookouts.
"Yes?" I said groggily.
"Boss, the caravan's back!" He said in a merry tone.
"Oh good, I was getting worried!" Relief clearly stated in my voice.
I ran past the man with newfound energy toward the village entrance. As the wooden gates opened, I saw it, the caravan, all present and accounted for. Standing in front of the gates with my arms crossed, I smiled widely.
"What took you so long?!" I yelled out.
My smile faded... they were far away but I could sense it, something had happened.
I waited for them to make their way over until I could see grim and alarmed looks on their faces.
"Boss, we found something." The caravan leader told me.
I walked past him with a serious look, then stopped and addressed the rest of the caravan. "Get the supplies inside, double time."
The leader walked up behind me, I didn't bother to look back. "Show me." I said.
He walked past me, signaling to one of the shaded buggies being pulled by two horses then I followed.
Looking inside, I saw a young man and a girl, both unconscious, both wounded.
"What happened?" I asked with concern, turning my head to the man.
"No idea, we just found them on the side of the road last night and brought them here, we thought they were dead but then I checked them, and they're still breathing, but badly wounded. My guess is they must've pissed something or someone off."
I returned my sight to the buggy, when I looked at their faces. A long, black haired man, and the young woman... I recognized them.
"Get them to my house, quick!"
I made my way back into the village and as I walked by, the man that had awoken me stared uneasily. I turned to him.
"Please, find my sister Clio, tell her I need her help, please." I pleaded, then walked into my house trying to find a way to make room for my inanimate guests.
A few minutes later, two large men came in carrying both bodies, setting the man on a mat I had laid out on my floor and the girl on my bed.
Behind them stood a woman in her mid 30's, looking confused, I ran up to greet her.
"Clio I'm so glad you're here!" I hugged her.
"What's going on here?" She asked, trying to look inside.
"No time to explain, I need your help!" An imploring look in my eyes made her face soften and she nodded.
"OK you take care of this guy here, I'll go tend to the girl." She replied, walking past me.
"Thank you!" I said then quickly obeyed.
As I inspected carefully for any wounds that might look grave or infected, I noticed his strange attire, made from some even stranger fabric and then noticed the symbols on his white shirt. I squinted my eyes, trying to read them, but it was useless.
I tried casting a general healing spell levitating my hands over his body. Light shone from my palms, then transferred to his body, engulfing him in a weak white light as I muttered the word 'vigoratus' under my breath.
Superficial wounds sealed but there were some swelled areas I assumed were broken bones. Wincing, I tried again, a stronger spell this time...
"Amplus vigoratus." I said in a stronger tone.
The flash that came from my palms was a lot brighter this time around and it made the swelled areas go back to normal. I sighed, relieved then stood up and walked to my room, where my sister was doing something similar to what I had tried.
"How's she doing?" I asked.
"Not good, we're going to need some more help." A hint of gloom in her voice discouraged me, but then again, it might have been the stress.
"I'll go gather up some stuff we're gonna need if they are to wake up and give us some answers." I said, then I saw her turn her gaze to me.
"What if they cause us trouble in the future? People are not always good Deadra, and if you think that you're being ignorant."
"Even so, I'm not risking two people dying because we refused to help. It's a waste of life." An irritated tone took over my voice as I looked deeply into her eyes then walked away.
"You're risking the entire village!" She shouted back at me.
"So be it! I'll deal with the consequences of my actions!" I growled, then walked off, leaving a small cloud of smoke from my clenched fist.

OOC> The characters I picked to stay over at my char's house are Stuzzie and Eve, in case you were wondering. Anyway, umm, hope I did good.

We fell through the vast depth of the cliff. As I regained my balance I spread out and conjured up my ice form. My body started to freeze over. The ground got closer. I heard the impacts of the others. I only rushed the ice to layer over and over, I closed my eyes...

The sound of branches snapping, a consant THUMP. THUMP in my head, leaves rustling and then finally THUD.

"Ved. I know we have been only traveling together for a month, but we've spent a lot of time with each other." [/i]The voice is of the one i'm looking for, Shinji. Then the scenary came into play. We sat there, on the last day before we reached Kinte from the Springfall Inn, where we first met a month ago. I listened to her as she talked.[/i] "But I don't know what to do. Derek and I like each other. Though now it doesn't compare to how I feel for you." A tear streaked down her cheek. Then her face began to ripple as if she was a column of water that a single drop hit. Her body waved till the surroundings foloowed suit. And everything else began to throw me away. Till the image of her burning by Choronzon's hand.

I snapped up in a colder sweat. Only to be thrusted down by the pain as it coursed through and reached my head. The throbbing came back, destroying all else, even the remaining dream. It seemed like hours till I regained enough control to look at myself. Luckily the ice coverings blocked all the major damages I would've taken, though the impact itself bruised me badly. On my chest lay a sheet of ice that didn't break, yet it holds a deep gash in it. I removed it as fast as my body will allow me and abosrbed the water.

I stayed on the ground breathing, till I decided to get up. I sat up first. Once I figured I had enough energy to I began to stand. I got up with effort. Satisified I took a step and my legs caved in propelling me to the ground. "AHH!!!!" I screamed as pain soared all over once more. Gritting my teeth I stayed there once more. Though less comfortable cause my body imprint is a couple feet away from me. I sighed, looked at a tree next to me, and got to my knees. Pushing through the pain I finally got up and leaned on the tree, asking it, "How long have I been unconcious?" I waited for the average couple minutes it took for an answer. I waited longer, still nothing. I know what's wrong. "I'm so sorry I hurt you. It was not my intention."

It seemed hopeless. "...half and.... one... sun circuit."
I smiled then frowned. But I thanked the tree and still rested my strength. One and a half day! What happened to the others? Ah! I have to find them. I just hope they're alright.

I pushed off the tree and cautiously took another step. The recent fall fresh in my mind. But through the new found strength to find the others I excelled in the first step. I stopped and asked the tree about the others. It replied awkwardly. "...around... some... friends not... falling... behind." And that was it. All I could pull from that is that there are things around here that pose as a threat, and that something fell behind... What if it means that behind me someone fell. At least it's something.

With that I turned around and staggered forward. Passed my imprint and kept going. After a tiring ten minutes I found another imprint. Upon further inspecting I concluded the imprint belonged to Eve. The curves gave it away. But drag marks came from it's base. I looked around and found a trail. I decided to get away from it just in case. In my state I'm in no room to fight. I decided to rest a little more.

I went back in the forest, found my imprint and the tree and slowly climbed it. I got to a nice spot and reached to the sky, and with as much energy I dared to use I shot a beam into the sky. And it began to rain on my tree and my tree alone. I felt the drops as another attack of darkness came.

I've been wandering in the gloom of the forest for almost two days now, using my scimitar, I hacked leaves out of my way. I still couldnt sense anyone, either i've been going the wrong way, or they're energy is greatly depleted. I cut a bush and kicked it out of my way, walking over to a fallen dead tree. I sat to take a breather.

'Where are they?' I thought to myself. 'Someone has to be close by.' I heard a growl and stood up, then I realised that it was my stomach. I sat back down and dug a little bit of my scimitar blade in the ground, my right arm leaning on the hilt of the blade, my stomach started growling again. 'I to find something to eat.'

I stood up and tried to sense for energy. I felt small energy, but nothing big. The thing that caught my attention was a patch of small energy, it was either a river or pond. At least that's what I hoped. I started walking again, cutting plants out of my way, on my way to the patch of energy I felt my stomach growl again. As I stopped to pat my stomach, I heard rustling in the bushes. I held out my left arm and was about to conjure an energy attac, but then it spoke.

"Wait!" I noticed it was Xenek's voice. He pushed himself through the trees, he didnt seem to badly hurt. I put my arm down and walked over to him. "Have you seen Eve?"
I shook my head. "If it werent for these trees, I wouldve probably found everyone by now."
"Well, as long as we stick together, we should have a better chance of surviving in this forest."
"Right." My stomach growled again. "Hm... The most logical place to go, would be a place with food, thats where everyone would probably head."
"Actally, I started walking this way because I seen something far too out of the ordinary, even for this forest." Xenek stated, I was puzzled. "As I was walking, I felt as if something was looking at me. So when I turned, I noticed it was raining."
"What? I didnt feel any rain." I stated.
"No. It wasnt raining all over, only in one particular spot."
"... Well, its worth a shot to check out... But if my conscience is right, then I know were going to find someone else."

We stared walking again, Xenek staying behind me as I cut weeds, plants, and even trees out of my way. If we were going to make it before the next nightfall, then we had to hurry. It felt like an hour of walking through the forest until we finally got close to our destination. It was a site to see, rain, only it was raining on one tree. I cut the remaining weeds out of my way and walked up to the tree, I walked right underneath the tree and seen Xenek walk up next to me. Looking up, I didnt see much of anything, and with how big the tree was, little rain fell through. This was the best spot of any to rest, and I knew I needed it. As I leaned against the tree opposite of the one that had rain falling on it, Xenek studied it. I shut my eyes to rest them, and felt myself fall into a light sleep.

I couldn't will my wings to spread out no matter how hard I tried. The currents were messed up too mych from the phoenix so I did the only thing I could, I twisted so I was facing down and the fall and tensed all my muscles to prepare for the impact. As soon as I hit the trees, my reflexes kicked in. I grabbed a branch on the way down, ripping it from the tree, it still slowed my fall. I reached out for several more branches each coming lose from where they were, each assisting in slowing my fall. I hit the ground with a thud but nothing too bad. I got up and looked around. I couldn't see anyone so I jumped and flapped my wings and soared through the air, feeling around for any energy remotely close to my friends and couldn't find anything.

Where could they be, I thought to myself. Just then I noticed something strange, there was one single rain cloud forming in the sky and it begane to rain in one spot. I knew instantly it was Ved so I flew over and decended to see him laying next to a tree. He looked beat.

"You ok there bro?" I asked, trying to help him up.

"Yeah I'll be fine, just let me sit in the rain a little more." He said, exahusted.

"Did you see anyone else?" I questioned.

"Nope, nothin'." He groaned and grabbed his side.

"So, I guess we wait here for Hazard to find us because I know he can't sit still." I joked.

"Haha, yeah." *Cough*Cough* "Ouch." I could see the fall did some damage.

"Ok, bro gimme some rain, I wanna charge a little."

"My pleasure." With that rain began to pour over me and I started emitting small sparks and I closed my eyes and went to sleep.

I felt something start shoving me, I pushed it away and squinted open my eyes. Xenek was standing there with a look of worry on his face. I pushed myself off the ground and brushed off any dirt I had on my pants.

"Whats wrong?" I asked as I joined him next to the tree that still had rain falling on it.
"I just seen something drop down into it, it could be Vade. Or another monster." He stated.
"Well, theres only one way to find out."

I held my arm crossed over my chest, dark matter gathered on my forearm then extended through my hand creating one of my dark energy blades. I seen Xenek start to back away, I smirked and held my arm up. The energy on the blade was hovering away meaning I had enough energy to hold it for a while. I turned to Xenek.

"How long was I out anyways?" I asked him.
"Does it really matter at this point?" he replied.

I shook my head and pointed my attention back to the mysterious tree. As I drew back and was about to strike, I heard a familiar voice call out.

"Hey! Hazard, Xenek!" I turned to the voice, it was Awol. "Wow, didnt count of finding yous here. I though Ved would be here."
"That's what were trying to figure out." Xenek stated.
"How are yous going to do that?" he asked, then he noticed my energy blade. "Wait, wouldnt it be easier to climb the tree?"
"I'm not really one for tree-climbing." I answered.
"But if they are up there they could get hurt." Awol walked towards me, "I'll climb the tree, If Veds not up there, then you can cut it down."
"But then thered be no real point for me to cut it down. Plus Vade might be up there, which is going to make it even better, and if you go up there and then I cut it down. Man, that would make my day." I said with a bit off laughter in my voice. Awols facial features shown confusion. "Just go! I'm not going to cut the damn thing down." I stated letting my energy blades power fade away.

Awol smirked then jumped to one branch on the tree, and continued his way up. Xenek and I waited for about thirty minutes until my patience got the best of me. I gathered the energy for my blade again and stepped next to the tree.

"Wait, give him another minute." Xenek stated.
"I gave him thirty already, there no point in waiting anymore." I replied.
Then I heard a rustling in the trees above, then Awol dropped down. "Actually there is, Ved and Vade are following me down."
"So they were up there." I let my blade disappear again, as it faded away Ved dropped down and Vade soon followed. Ved seemed weary, as long as we dont enter a fight he should be fine. And Vade looked normal, just a few scratches here and there.

"Well, well, well. Looks like were all reunited." I said.
"You know you were getting torn apart without us." Vade stated lightly punching my arm.
"Hmph. Right. While you were up there, see any traces of Eve or Stuzzie?" I asked, Xenek walked close to hear the news about his sister. But Ved and Vade shook there heads.
"But I did find this." Ved said pulling a push out of the way revealing drag marks of a body resembling Eve's, with tred marks heading down a path.

"Well, looks like we found our new direction." Awol said from behind. Before anyone else could say anything, Xenek was already walking. I looked at Awol and shook my head, then I followed Ved and Vade who were behind Xenek. Foosteps behind me indicated Awol was following. I didnt know where the treds led to, but if it led to Eve, then it's where we had to go.

It had been three days since I sheltered strangers into my home. Three exhausting, long days.
The young girl hadn't shown any signs of improvement from her comatose state although she was healing up very quickly, it was starting to worry me. Still, I knew slowly but surely, she would recover.
However, when I looked back to the stranger lying in front of me, he was flickering his eyes open. Alarmed, I called my sister over silently. Blinking a few times, he was adjusting his eyes to the light and then started moaning, I didn't think he realized where he was just yet.
And I hadn't realized this man could be a threat... I put my hand on the hilt of my sword just in case. My sister had seen this action with widened eyes, then she put her hand over mine gently, drawing my attention and shaking her head. This surprised me since she was the one who had been against the whole thing since the beginning, then again, she was right, you can't trust everyone and I wasn't about to. Another moan distracted me from my thoughts followed by a sharp air intake, which instinctively made me draw my sword and aim it at his head. The man seemed startled.

"Take it easy lady," he said, still a bit hazy.

"Don't move. Your name," I demanded.

He paused. "Stuzzie..." Looking around, he furrowed his eyebrows. "...how did I get here and, who are you?"

"You're in no position to ask questions. Why were you almost dead when you were found? Who were you fighting? And who's that other person on my bed?" I questioned him.

"...I'm hungry." Was all he could utter before closing his eyes again.

...That was irritating. My sword ignited.

"Don't make me ask you again," I warned.

He opened his eyes again when he felt the heat close to his face.

"Geez lady! Look, we fell down a cliff, thanks to some huge phoenix that for some reason got angry at us and as for the other person, I don't know 'cause, oh, I can't move! Can I please not have the sword aimed at my face?" He replied hastily.

I couldn't help but laugh on the inside at his reaction but I managed to keep a straight face.

"The young woman, the one that was traveling with you, what is her name?" I asked, in a softer tone.

He opened his eyes widely, "Eve! Is she okay?"

I figured since he had answered me, he deserved something in kind.

"She's fine, but she's not yet awake."

He tried sitting up then cried out. I pushed him back with my free hand and withdrew my sword.

"You're in no condition just yet. You'll stay here until you're fully recovered. If they're alive your friends will probably come looking for you, and if they prove your story right, then I'll let you get out of here alive," I said.

He squinted his eyes, confused. "How do you know there are more of us?" Then gasped. "IT WAS YOU! You were the one spying in the forest!"

I smiled and nodded then pointed to my sister. "If you need anything, this is Clio, she's been caring for your friend, let her know if you want something."

He looked at her as she bowed and smiled.

"Something to eat would be nice, preferably something sweet if it's not too much trouble." He requested with a grin on his face.

She quickly got up and walked away as I gave him one last look and then followed her. I grabbed my hunting dagger from one of my drawers and then offered it to her.

"Clio, please take this, if he makes any move without my say-so, use it, but don't kill him."

She hesitated, but knew it was for her own good then nodded and took it.

"You know, he doesn't seem like a bad person," she stated, placing the dagger in her pocket.

"I know, but I'm not taking any chances."
