More Final Fantasy VII games?

At a Square-Enix conference, Youichi Wada was quoted as saying that the company is aiming to "strengthen its position as far as original games are concerned". He then went on to say that he believes the Final Fantasy VII franchise will be alive for two decades (which would mean another 10 years).
There has been many rumours floating around about a possible remake of Final Fantasy VII for the Playstation 3. The quotes obtained from the conference only add to the rumours.
However, keep in mind that this could have absolutely nothing to do with a remake, he could just be just referring to the production of completely new games for the Final Fantasy VII compilation.
