Dirge of Cerberus was recently reviewed by IGN. The game scored a 7 and a summary of the review is below.
Presentation - 8.5
Vincent, Yuffie, and Reeve are made even more interesting than they already were (well, maybe not Yuffie), and the fast load times and smart menus are a big bonus. Production values, go!
Graphics- 8.0
Expect plenty of aliasing problems in just about every scene, but you should also plan on finding great character models and a cool art style. The framerate remains consistent too.
Sound- 7.5
While not entirely memorable, there are a few tracks with ties to older Final Fantasy songs coupled with original tunes that work well with the action. The voice acting hits mores than misses.
Gameplay- 6.5
The targeting and camera is obviously superior to the Japanese version and the mindless shooting and occasional boss battles are real fun. Poor AI, bad pacing, and basic stage design disappoints.
Lasting Appeal- 7.5
A windfall of bonus modes that become available after you beat the game (including optional side-missions) are a nice touch, and multiple endings are more than welcome.
OVERALL- 7.0 Decent
(out of 10 / not an average)
