5000 Final Fantasy XI Accounts Banned

Continuing in their quest to prevent cheating in Final Fantasy XI, Square Enix reported today that 5000 more accounts have been banned for using 3rd party tools or cheats, or for engaging in gil farming and sale of virtual merchandise.
4000 of the accounts have been terminated indefinitly, and the other 1000 are temporarily suspended. More than 1000 of the terminated accounts were created by people previously caught and banned for violation of terms of use. This round of bannings has lead to the removal of 50 billion gil from the game.
